Villa Paolina is ideal for couples and families looking for a relaxing villa holiday with the opportunity to explore south east Sicily.  This lovely 2 bedroom, 2 shower room villa is all on one level with a bright open-plan kitchen/lounge/dining area with doors leading out to a shaded dining terrace overlooking the pool, with views to the sea beyond. The location of the villa is ideal to visit the colourful town of Marzamemi with a great selection of restaurants, marina and beach.  The town of Pachino is just 2km drive for shops and supermarkets. The villa is in a strategic position to visit the baroque towns of Val di Noto, the closest being Noto (24km) and  Ispica (25km). Vendicari nature reserve is 15km and Portopalo di Capo Passero 7km on the south eastern tip of the island. Car hire is essential for supplies and exploring the local area.
 

Accommodation

This contemporary villa (80m2) is arranged on one level. There are 2 comfortable double bedrooms and 2 shower rooms. The modern interior extends to the kitchen-dining-living area with doors leading out onto the terrace with views to the sea beyond. 

The villa has air conditioning throughout, WiFi, 3 TVs, 2 hairdryers, cot & highchair and the kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, electric oven, 4-ring induction hob, microwave, espresso machine and coffee percolator, kettle, toaster, mixer, dishwasher, washer dryer and iron. There will be a Welcome Breakfast Basket on arrival.

The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are cleaned weekly and towels are changed mid-week. Linen changed weekly.

Outside there is a lovely private 300m2 terrace with a table, chairs, sofa, barbecue and sink under a gazebo for al fresco dining.  The private swimming pool (6m x 10m, depth 0.6-1.40 max, open 01/03-30/11) has easy entry steps and adjacent sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols, surrounded by shrubs and flowers. There is also an external shower room and parking.

The charming town of Marzamemi is 1.6km from the villa with marina, beach and an array of shops, restaurants and café bars.  The town of Pachino 2km away has supermarkets, bank and shops.

Situated in south east Sicily, just 2km from Marzamemi with colourful town square, pretty harbour and beach. With extensive heritage dating back to the 10th century under Arab influence, this scenic town is a pillar in seafood delicacies in addition to a blend of rich history including the Piazza Regina Margherita (the town square) and the Church of San Francesco di Paola. Marzamemi exudes natural charm creating an idyllic location for those wishing to experience authentic Sicily. The location is also ideal for relaxing on the beach with restaurants and sunbed hire available.

Villa Paolina is also 2km from the town of Pachino, ideal for provisions with supermarkets, shops and traditional Sicilian restaurants. Located 65m above sea level in the south eastern province of Syracuse and straddling the Mediterranean and Ionian Sea, Pachino has a mild climate from autumn to spring and a hot climate in the summer with temperatures reaching 33’C.  

There is a weekly market (Monday) in Noto 24km away.  Noto is famous for its 18th century buildings, many of which consider to be the finest examples of the Sicilian Baroque style. Points of interest include the Palazzo Ducezio (the town hall) and the Noto Cathedral. In 2002 the city and its Cathedral were declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The villa is in a strategic position to visit the other UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Syracuse & Ortigia (52km) and the Val di Noto historic Baroque towns of Ispica (25km), Modica (41km), Ragusa-Ibla (60km) and Scicli (46km) situated amongst the rugged Iblei mountains and make up this interesting area of the island. Additionally, the picturesque coastline includes Portopalo di Capo Passero (7km) on the south eastern tip of the island and Vendicari Nature Reserve (15km) home to Herons, Cranes, Black Storks, Pelicans and a flamboyance of Flamingos in its lagoons, marshes, dunes and beaches.
